NJCA Symposium 2026 – Memory, Trauma, Evidence and the Courts

NJCA Symposium 2026 – Memory, Trauma, Evidence and the Courts

Judicial officers, barristers, legal practitioners, leading academics and researchers from across the country came together in Adelaide in August and covered neurobiological foundations of memory, trauma and memory phenomena, memory malleability and suggestibility, investigative interviewing, and how courts should properly engage with memory science in judicial decision-making.

The NJCA thanks the keynote speaker Professor Barbara Spellman, Professor of Law and Professor of Psychology, from the University of Virginia and the NJCA Symposium Committee for bringing the symposium to life.
