On behalf of the National Judicial College of Australia, we congratulate Justice Stephen Gageler as the fourteenth Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia.

We celebrate Chief Justice Gageler as the the first chief justice of the High Court to make a formal national acknowledgement of Indigenous Australians, by inviting an Indigenous barrister to open the speeches at his swearing-in ceremony.

We congratulate Justice Robert Beech-Jones on his appointment to the High Court of Australia and wish Chief Justice Kiefel all the very best for the future.
